Guns of icarus4/7/2023 ![]() So I stopped playing.Īnyway, aside from that, the game really works best when you have 3 friends also playing, which immediately makes the game inaccessible for a large number of players. I didn't feel like there was much skill involved and it was incredibly tedious, almost like doing actual work. Basically you run around on your ship repairing systems that are breaking. Of course I would be put in that role because, considering how boring it is, no one else wanted to do it. Playing Engineer was incredibly boring, worse than playing a support in League of Legends, but like League of Legends, without someone "sacrificing" for the team, you wouldn't win. I tried playing Guns of Icarus Online a while ago and didn't play for that long, so please correct me on anything I get wrong.Įssentially my main problem with the game was that it seemed like 1-2 people basically had to sacrifice their fun in order for their team to win. This, combined with low playerbase, lack of apparent news for what is going on/has happened, lack of any form of controversy or negative event that led to a decline, leaves me with the question: r/games, what happened to Guns of Icarus Online? It seems this has sort of now transitioned into a DLC called 'Alliance Mode' and is set for Fall 2016, which seems to be very delayed from the original kickstarter. Muse Games also launched a kickstarter in 2013 for an 'Adventure Mode'. There was also a lot of YouTube following for it. ![]() What happened? Back during some of the previous steam sales (both last year and the year before) I remember during the sales it did very well, selling for dirt cheap and appearing on the top sellers list, plus it's still holding up very well in terms of Steam reviews, with a 94% score. ![]() ![]() I recall jumping in and playing several times in 2014 and having a lot of fun on it with several others, but after a bit of research now the game doesn't seem to have all that in the way of players- steam charts reports the peak in the last 30 days was 403. I was having a quick skim over my Steam library for games to play when I noticed Guns of Icarus Online. ![]()
